As a child, I dreamed of becoming a pilot, soaring through the skies, carrying people’s dreams and hopes. Instead, I followed in my father’s footsteps and became a dentist, passionately devoting myself to daily treatments. It was during these days that a junior colleague remarked, “Dental care really does fulfill people’s dreams, doesn’t it?”
That comment made me realize anew the profound impact of our work. Watching patients leave with a smile, reclaiming their old selves, and seeing their dental worries disappear—these moments mark significant turning points in their lives. It was then that my journey as a dentist truly seeking healing alongside treatment began.
We treat more than just teeth or oral conditions; we address not only cavities or misalignments. We consider each patient’s unique history, background, immediate needs, and future considerations. True healing in dentistry isn’t just about looking at the teeth before us—it’s about seeing the tree, the forest, and the seasons of life.
An 80-year-old patient once told me, “Marriage, childbirth, implants—these were the pivotal moments in my life.” These words, which reflect a patient’s life chapters that I’ve had the privilege to enhance, remain precious to me.
Today, I am the captain of a vast ‘airplane’ called dental medicine. Aboard this flight, I carry numerous patients’ dreams and hopes, navigating carefully and safely with my exceptional crew, aiming to bring everyone to their desired destinations in the most suitable seasons. Despite our meticulous safety measures, challenges can arise. The art of medicine involves flexible pre-flight planning, alternative routes, and sometimes, the courage to turn back. As a medical captain and dentist at Medical Corporation Yuusei, I am committed to providing steadfast care, ensuring we never falter in our journey. All for the smile on each patient’s face.

Message
I considered pursuing a career in healthcare because my younger sister had health issues. I was torn between becoming a medical doctor or a dentist, but the influence of a close uncle who was a dentist led me to choose dentistry.
Since becoming a dentist, I have dedicated myself to treating patients with urgent needs, such as those requiring dental anesthesia and those with disabilities who find it difficult to receive standard dental care. I began studying advanced dental treatments, like implantology, in 2006, which is when I met Dr. Shigehara. What started merely as an observational visit has evolved into a valuable mentorship, allowing me to learn various aspects of dental care while working.
Dental care is often thought to involve only drilling and filling, but I believe it encompasses much more than that. With my diverse experiences, I am committed to contributing to everyone’s health and well-being each day.
